PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Doctor of Education Program in Teaching English (Ed.D. Teaching English) degree is divided two programs-the first program learning with 54 credits and thesis, the second program learning with 54 credits and independent study. The program designed for those who seek a systematic education in teaching English for professional teacher.
Students of the Ed.D. Teaching English program will acquire knowledge of teaching English, texts, and practices with a focus on teaching English approach and terminology, develop analytical thinking and research skills.

2. Gain Practical Skills and Teaching Strategies for Teaching English Students will learn the necessary skills of teaching English practitioners. They will learn how to develop academic educational concepts creatively; solve problems through appropriate processes; provide English instruction appropriately with multicultural awareness, and use suitable information and communication technology in their research and English teaching.
3. Learn in International Academic Environment Students will learn in an international environment with our international student body and our international guest lecturers.
4. Flexible Class times Our flexible class times are suitable for pre-service, in-service, and full-time working teachers/practitioners. Compulsory courses usually meet on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
ADMISSION
The program offers two plans of study to suit different backgrounds and needs of our students:
First program learning with 54 credits and thesis.
Second program learning with 54 credits and independent study.
Students have up to two academic years from the date of entry into the program to complete all the requirements. For the thesis plan of study, students’ research proposals must be approved within the first two academic years after entering the program. QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS
1. Master of Arts (M.A), Master of Education (M.Ed.), or Master’s degree in Liberal Arts (M.A.) majoring in English;
2. GPA of no less than 2.50 or 2 year of teaching experience; and
ACADEMIC CALENDAR YEAR:
The program operates on a semester basis:
- First semester: June – September;
- Second semester: November – March.
APPLICATION
In general, the application is open two rounds in a year. The first-semester admission starts from around June-September. The second-semester admission is in November – March. - Applicants are required to follow the admission procedures and mail in the completed application form and required documents to the Division of Teaching English Program, Faculty of Education, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University.
- Eligible candidates will then be called for an interview. Names of the eligible candidates and interview schedules will be announced on our website.

Plan 2 (Coursework and Dissertation): Students are not required to learning with 54 credits.
